Twitter swats one BIG bug

A flaw with Twitter's security system has impacted thousands of Twitter accounts by redirecting them to inappropriate websites - including porn sites- without the users consent.

This bug is uniquely dangerous in that it uses a JavaScript function called "onMouseOver" which creates an event or preview pop-up that redirects users to a websites.

Lucky for most users, third-party apps like HootSuite and TweetDeck have not reported any impact from the bug.

At around 11:00 a.m. Twitter announced via it's @Safety account that the problem was taken care of.
