Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates may be the wealthiest man in the U.S., but according to Forbes magazine's annual ranking of 400 wealthiest Americans Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg could be next.
Zuckerberg made an astounding leap this year on the 400 list rising from 158th to 35th place while his wealth grew more than anyone else on the list as a percentage - $2 billion to $6.8 billion.
Mashable was quick to point out this morning that Zuckerberg - at 26-years-old - has passed Apple co-founder Steve jobs who is 42nd on the list.
Others on the list include Oprah Winfrey at 130th richest and Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim who passed Bill Gates earlier this year for the first place spot at $60 million.
